Closing the Curtains

Well 2016 has got to be an entirely different year from what I'm normally used to. It had so many downs and relatively considerable number of ups. The year when I had friends lose jobs and I also became a participant of what it meant. Well needless to say it opened my eyes to so many things I needed to do like do the Masters I have been doing with mouth for God knows how many years now... Like they say, if you haven't married kuku go to school... Lol, I wonder who formed that adage. Well that's not to say there is no Mr. Right by my side πŸ˜€. I think I can count the number of weddings I attended this year and well though there will still be more in 2017, you know weddings are a delight, even though at the end it feels like, so that's how Asoebi money has gone like that sha 😁😁😁.

So what am I looking forward to in 2017? More Weddings, this time my close friends must be accounted for o, Travelling, Mehn I didn't go to a single place for fun this year (Bros, erm erm I know you are reading this, let's travel next year Pretty Please πŸ˜‡πŸ˜†πŸ˜(let me do googoo eyes here😍😜😏) and money yeah loads of it, Mehn and achievements left right and center for my friends, family and myself and a greater walk with God; This is just the best thing, cause it paves way for Great things to come.

So incase you don't know it, there are two great programmes coming up early next year first up is WAFBEC organised by Covenant Christian Center from the 27th of January to 2nd of February 2017 and trust me it going to be awesome. Then there is this one organised for youths by another Church who will be hosting Heather Lindsey and her husband Cornelius 4th &5th of February, 2017... You can register for it by clicking on this link below:

And I'm sure it will be real talk cause she is so real, you can follow her on Instagram
@heatherlove, she is such a blessing to young single ladies and married women alike.

So as we draw the curtain on 2016 to a close I just am thankful for God, life, Family, friends and my special Best Friend... Words can't express enough all the thanks I feel. See you in the new year.

Impossible is Nothing

So I've been playing this game for almost a month now, and it's quite a lot like Candy Crush (though I never played it that much, the Friends asking to play it on Facebook all the time was somewhat annoying). Anyways, so the game is called Garden scapes and I've been on this difficult level for almost a week now and it was very annoying... I literally played it any chance I got and when I was bored especially, thanks to NEPA aka PHCN not giving light. I was almost giving up, but somehow I knew for the developers to create different levels after this level it was possible to pass it. And boy did I pass it just this Sunday evening, and it got me thinking, really the Guys behind the Sprite advert " Impossible is Nothing" really knew what they were talking about. There is nothing, I repeat Nothing you can't achieve once you set your mind to it, funny it had to be a game to remind me of this. When in the Bible the Angel Gabriel said 'For with God nothing shall be Impossible' in Luke 1:37; he wasn't playing. No matter what it is, be it learning a new skill, getting a new job, getting a contract, driving a car; I REPEAT IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING. So whatever you see in front of you that seems insurmountable , just believe it is yours and it definitely will be.

Do share with me your experiences of seemingly impossible feats you achieved in the comments section.

The Interview

Yesterday marked a very interesting day of my life. I had the best interview ever with the CEO of a company. Now it's not because I have gotten the job, but because I had a real discussion with the individual in question. I learned and she also learnt a thing or two from me. Now this is the first interview ever I've had that I was not anxious during the discussion. She made me feel relaxed in every bit and made me feel at home. Now this brings me to why people always feel anxious during or before an interview. Yes it's very normal to feel anxious even though the Bible advises against that, but what makes you relax? Or how can you achieve a relaxed mind.

1. Your interviewer can do that for you with the way he/she communicates with you.

2. You can also talk to yourself and relax on your own.

If you see every interview as a way to improve on yourself and the way you interact with people, you will go into every interview and come out without fear. Just believe whatever is yours is yours. The secret is having the right thoughts. Your thoughts shape your reality. You can achieve everything you ever want by thinking the right thoughts always.

There is this book "The Secret" by Rhonda Bryne that will open your mind up to how your thoughts bring forth whatever happens to you in life.

I want to assure you that no one can bring you down if you don't give them that power, the Power is in your own hands. You have got to unleash the Power in you.

Do drop your comments in the comment section, till I write next tata for now☺️

Much ado about Weddings

So for some days now I have just had the opportunity or would I say happenstance to watch movies about Weddings,  the famous "The Father of the Bride" and another called " June in January " now both were completely different story lines but had the underlying fears about getting married.
In Father of the bride, the Father himself was the one skeptical about his 'little girl' getting married cause he thought she was still too young at age 24 and hey she just finished University. Well you can't blame him, after waiting for his daughter to graduate from school overseas only for her to spring a surprise of a marriage to someone she had just dated few months in school.
Which brings me to the question... How long is suitable for you to date the one you intend to marry? A year, six months, two years?  How long to me doesn't matter,  what matters is you guys are right for each other,  those who have married have this knack for knowing the person once they meet...lol.  But now begs the question,  what happens to those who get divorced or separated after like a year or more of marriage?  Didn't they get that feeling?
Hmm, so now this is it, it's not so much of a feeling but a confirmation from God and your spirit man. Do you feel peace inside of you when you think of a future with the person?
So now we all hear that marriage is not a day's job, a Wedding is a day's job, cause after all its just a day's event, and after that marriage begins.
It's said that when you Marry you don't just marry the person 'Man' you marry his whole family,  because trust me no matter how much your husband is fond of you he still loves his family and belonged first to his family before he even met you.
Which brings me to the second movie        'June in January ' so this lady named June had met this lovely guy who was from a well to do home and just got a job in another state and he wanted to marry her and move out with her cause he could not bear living without her, facing a new city, new job all alone (yeah he was kind of selfish yeah...). Now the lady who was born in June, her parents got married in June, infact wanted a June wedding,  but no, her Fiance wanted it now (January)  cause he had to move with her, so she had to sacrifice that month aspect, also leave her nursing job and move with him...and guess what? The mother of the groom didn't like her a bit. So we all know how Men and their mothers can be, she tried all she could to sabotage the wedding,  even when it eventually pulled through in 3 weeks for some reason the Clergy to wed them was told the wedding had been cancelled..  In the end though they got wedded.
So bottom line, getting married entails much more than the wedding day, before you wed ensure you have looked into every detail, be friends with the family of the guy, even if it seems they do not like you, the fact their son loves you will definitely bring them around. (Hey same goes for the girls family cause some parents don't also like the Guy).
The final thing you should do is always ensure God is involved, he loves Marriage,  he instituted it so why shouldn't He?

A new Year For Me

So I know I have been far away from you. Well with what has been happening in this Country Nigeria, you would not blame me totally.

Started first with the lay off in my company in January, 2016. I have never been in shock or cried uncontrollably that day, it was as if my heart was wrenched out of my chest. Dear friends and colleagues were asked to leave, even those who you would have thought.. Lie lie they can't lay off this person went.  It was a really sad day for the company.

Well I'm here now and guess what? I was a year older yesterday... Hmmmm now I'm into that decade so many things come to mind and many people will increase their questions..  Ah "calls my name" When are we coming to eat rice now? Like seriously all the rice you have been eating since you were born ain't enough for you...lol.

I have entered the age where I simply have to reflect on so many things... Yes I need to have achieved some things at this stage, but for some sad reasons I haven't.  Does that mean I will give up? Hell No!!! I am blessed to have great people around me who help with advice in ways I can't even imagine,  I am blessed with parents who love me, and yeah you might be asking.. Okay Aunty what of "The Boo"?  Well that's for another day. What matters most is I have so many loved ones around me and with time you will get to know "The Boo". (I know some people will almost kill me now when they read this and say who am I kidding,  you know you have a Boo...😁 )

So what can I do to enjoy my new year? I must never give up on my dreams,  I need to restrategize,  Nigeria looks bad enough as it is with the fuel scarcity that doesn't want to end, only yesterday at 21 Road,  Festac Town a boy was killed at Forte Oil for Fuel,  now the stories coming out from that incident seem funny and doesn't add up, but it all points to the lawless state Nigeria has found itself in.

We are in the second quarter of this year, there is still a lot that can be done. Ideas left unborn, we need to reach for that solution, we need to touch that person that needs our help, no matter how little.

Be not only self conscious, but care for others too, the saying "There is love in sharing"  never gets old, when you eat the little you have in love with someone,  somehow you automatically get filled.

Nigeria needs our care, it begins with little things like not littering the environment,  waiting for your turn (though I know some people will have my head in this fuel scarcity period)  lol, but it's the truth.

This year I want to not worry and hand it over to God, and I think you should try that too... But that doesn't mean you should leave what you should do and wait for God to do all for you.

Till I get my juices running again, this is where I get to stop. TAATAA!!!

Words or Actions

Actions are said to speak louder than words. Out actions tell much more than what we say. For example,  you could be a Customer service representative who attends to Customers,  you may be saying I sincerely apologize for...  But your countenance does not depict you're truly sorry. People react to appearances much more than words. However, words also go a long way to speak to people's minds.

The politician who is campaigning for a position will promise to do almost anything and the people because of his words or his countenance when he was speaking believe him, vote for him and end of being disappointed in the end.

President Obama of the United States of America is a man of words, he knows how to move people by his words, that was why the American people voted him in for his famous speech, the "Yes we can" speech.

However,  words appeal more to the female gender than it does for the male gender.  A woman would fall in love by the words she hears,  she would also show her love by words as well as actions.  Whereas a Man will show his love mainly by actions, he fails in words, hence at times you hear " Words cannot express how much I love you " that's just the way a man is.

That is why as ladies,  if you want to know if a guy likes you or not, you can tell by his actions and not his words.. This is the light that is shown and seen clearly.

So brings the question who lies more then... Men or Women?  That's left for you to argue about. Well we are not here to argue that, or are we...?

Whatever you do, make sure your actions are in tandem with your words.

Words create,  while actions enact.

Blessing in Silence

Silence is said to be golden. But truly there is a high price for silence.  I would even say, silence is an art one needs to perfect.
If you don't have something nice to say, it's better you keep quiet.
A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.
Proverbs 25:11 KJV

Imagine how lovely this picture would be, that is how our words when said at the right time should be. I am very guilty of talking without thinking about the consequences and it has bit a number of times.
How then can one learn this art of Silence?
It takes patience on one's part.
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
James 1:19 KJV
Now you must learn how not to speak immediately. Think of it like when you want to chew a very hard meat,  you take your time to chew it in your mouth before swallowing. Patience is just the watch word. I know how hard it is to be patient,  trust me it can be very hard... But Patience as we know is a virtue.
If you want to be virtuous,  being patient is the way to go.
I just hope we will all learn the beautiful art of Silence,  because in silence we meditate and become better individuals.
